The warm days of Spain’s summer and fall-summer have faded. It’s 10ºC here at 5 p.m. People are no longer spending long afternoons on the terraces of bars. What to do? Why, practice your listening skills! One of the best things about listening is that you can do other tasks while practicing your English.
Here’s my favorite source for listening for advanced students: National Public Radio (NPR)’s news program called “All Things Considered.” http://www.npr.org/programs/all-things-considered/
If you consider yourself an English pro, check out NPR’s quiz/comedy program “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me”: http://www.npr.org/programs/wait-wait-dont-tell-me/
Of course, there are loads of other podcasts or streaming radio stations to choose from. I simply suggested the above two programs because they are, and have always been, two of my favorites.
Happy fall, everyone!
